As an East High graduate and Wichita native, Phil has been at Slape and Howard since 1998. He has dedicated his career to helping injured Kansans.

Jon Voegeli

Attorney at Law

A Kapaun graduate hailing from Wichita, Jon joined Slape & Howard in 2012 and has worked tirelessly to protect the rights of his clients.

Jo Massey

Attorney at Law

Jo joined the Slape & Howard team straight outta Washburn Law after graduating with Dean’s Honors in the infamous COVID class of 2020. From the get go, Jo has quietly and consistently beat insurance companies down on behalf of her clients.

David Farris

Attorney at Law

David has been exclusively representing injured people in workers compensation claims throughout the entire state of Kansas for over 30 years. He has appeared in every workers compensation court in the state, as well as argued cases to the Appeals Board, District Courts, and the Kansas Court of Appeals on behalf of the thousands of injured Kansans he has successfully represented over the course of his career.

Miriam Vasquez

Legal Assistant

Miriam has been a legal assistant at the Law Offices of Slape & Howard since 2004. She focuses on social security disability, workers compensation, and personal injury cases.

Natalia Belisle

My name is Natalia and I joined Slape and Howard in September of 2021. I was born in Wellington, KS, moved to Wichita in late 1990’s and graduated from Wichita West High in 2008.

Delynn Nelson

Legal Assistant

Delynn grew up in Wichita, attended Wichita High School East, and graduated in 1990. She attended Pittsburg State University, where she obtained her certificate in paralegal studies in 1993 and her associate’s degree in sociology with a minor in political science in 1994.

Melissa VanTassel

Legal Secretary

Melissa is an experienced administrative professional, with years of personnel, human resources and employee support.

Debbie Kite

Nurse Case Manager

Debbie was born and raised in McPherson, Kansas. She graduated from McPherson High School in 1976, attended Hutchinson Community Junior College and St Francis School of Nursing where she graduated in 1979. She obtained her Case Management Certification in 1991.

Lisa Slape

Office Manager

Lisa was born and raised in Wichita, Kansas. In 2003, she received her Associate of Arts in Business from Baker University’s Professional and Graduate Studies program.

Alfredo Flores

Legal Assistant

Alfredo graduated from West High and now has been with Slape & Howard since 2022. He started off as a legal secretary and moved up to a legal assistant. He is a father of two beautiful girls, he is also bilingual and originally born in Zacatecas, Mexico.

Abby Keane-Ellis

Legal Assistant

Abby has been with Slape & Howard since February of 2023. She recently married her highschool sweetheart and loves to spend time not only with him but her family and two pups as well. Abby started off here as a legal secretary then moved her way up to a legal assistant all while pursuing an associates degree in Paralegal Studies.

Vanessa Osorio

Legal Secretary

Vanessa has been with Slape & Howard since the summer of 2023. She is California born, Kansas raised with roots in El Salvador. She is a mama to an adventurous little boy. She is bilingual and graduated from Maize South then attended Friends University and the University of Kansas.

Alondra Valle

Intake Specialist

Alondra has been with Slape & Howard since June of 2023. She is a student at Wichita State University and a Gore Scholar. No matter how busy she gets, she will always make time to spend quality time with her friends and family. She also loves to volunteer. Alondra will volunteer anywhere and anytime she can.

Maura Velasco-Perez

Legal Secretary

Maura has been with Slape & Howard since the summer of 2023. She is a mama of two amazing boys who keep her plenty busy. She is bilingual and plans on becoming a certified translator in the future. In her free time, Maura will go thrifting and read personal growth books.

Sharon Gastineau

Legal Secretary

Sharon Gastineau grew up in Kingman, Kansas and after high school, started working as a receptionist/secretary for the Law Firm of Render, Kamas & Kelly. She worked for the same firm for many years, even though there were name changes throughout the years.

Alyssa Zimmer

Runner

Alyssa has been with Slape & Howard since July of 2023. She is a retired cheerleader and a graduate from Eisenhower High. Alyssa got her associates in high school and is going to get her bachelors then proceed to law school.

Melissa Leonard

Legal Secretary

Melissa has been with Slape & Howard since October of 2023. She is bilingual in ASL and graduated from McPherson College in ‘97 with an English Degree and continued on to be an experienced educator of 26 years.
