Bankruptcy
Bankruptcy arranges for the payment of a manageable
debt and eliminates unmanageable debt problems.
There are two (2) basic types of bankruptcy available to consumers and
small businesses: Chapter 7 and Chapter 13. Each has its own advantages
and restrictions. The type of bankruptcy that is best for any one person
or couple depends upon their unique circumstances.
Bankruptcy does not eliminate your responsibility to pay alimony or child
support, most tax obligations, recent student loans, or the debt on your
house or car. In addition, there are restrictions placed upon last-minute
purchases. Most importantly, do not rush into a decision. We will talk to
you about the available options to reduce your debt. Please contact
Slape and Howard, Chtd. to set up an appointment for a consultation and
financial assessment.
